WHO WAS THAT LADLE I SEEN YOU WITH LAST NIGHT? Carefully fill your molds. Lead is heavy and pans can be prone to tipping. I use both hands on the ladle but you may be stronger. If you’re going to have an accident this is probably the time for it, as you reach over molten lead with more molten lead. (N.B.: if you work on a sidewalk or driveway, cover it with boards or something or you’ll be admiring your spills and drips for years).

FUN WITH MOLTEN LEAD: Casting ingots needn’t be boring! I’ve used soapstone statue molds, gingerbread molds, scuba weight molds, and my favorite, circus animal cookie molds. Heart shaped molds are for pure lead for cap ‘n ball casting.

IMPRESS YOUR FRIENDS: Best not to let the kids chew on these cookies, but you can claim that you spent the afternoon making Christmas decorations.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY: Hope you find as much enjoyment assembling, improving, and using your mini-foundry as I do! Always wear your safety glasses and have fun!. Be careful, stay safe, and good shootin’ pards!
