COUNT ONE: Fill the mold. I do it front to back. As the first sprue hole reaches the spout, lift pot lever with right hand and hold it open full blast. As first hole is filled push mold forward with quick measured jerks, hesitating at each sprue hole just long enough to fill the cavity. Accuracy with this will come quickly.
Release pot lever and grasp mold handles from underneath with right hand, palm up, and start rotating mold as it heads toward the wet towel.
COUNT TWO: Hiss the hot sprue on the towel for a second or less, cooling sprues and sprue plate.
COUNT THREE: Move the inverted mold over the dry towel landing pad with right hand while....
....left hand opens the sprue lever and lightly maintains control of it; as....
....right hand’s little finger flicks the far mold handle, opening mold and releasing boolits to fall on the dry towel. Shake that last boolit out if necessary. If your slugs tend to stay in the mold, adjust your temperature by whatever means works best; raising pot temp, moving a bit slower, leaving sprue cutter on wet towel a little longer, or opening the mold more quickly or slowly.
Back to COUNT ONE, closing the mold, swapping hands again, glancing at the pot to see if it needs refilling. Repeat.
I don’t bother returning the sprues to the pot until I take a break. When the towel gets crowded, fold it over to get a fresh landing pad. Ready for another run? Let’s go:
